Senior Consultant Annelies Kleijsen introduces herself

Drs. Annelies Kleijsen studied policy and organization studies at the University of Tilburg. After graduating at the topic of stakeholder management she started working as a Strategy Consultant for consultancy firm Rijnconsult. Her main focus switched during the years from strategy development and organizational infrastructure to knowledge management. Linking knowledge management close to organizational objectives as a purpose of obtaining the organizational strategy especially fascinates Annelies.

In 2003 Annelies switched to DNV-CIBIT to work as a Senior Consultant in the Knowledge Management group. She is involved in projects focussing on knowledge areas in combination with organizational objectives and using effective ways of sharing experience at the right place at the right moment. Annelies worked for profit and non-profit organizations as the Dutch ministries BiZa and V&W, the Dutch Railway Organization NS as well as Akzo Nobel, DSM and Electrabel. Annelies is involved in training programs for DNV-CIBIT’s Masterclasses such as the Masterclass Knowledge Management and the Masterclass Knowledge Centres as well as the Masters of Science education program.

  • Number 1
    : Continuity management
Preservingcorporate knowledge and productivity when employees leave, Beazley H., Boenisch J., Harden D., 2002, ISBN 0471219061.
A clear and vivid book on the recognition, retention and continued use of (organizational) knowledge when personnel leaves. The writers show clearly how important individual knowledge is, for example, by demonstrating how much this knowledge is part of the organizational system. If knowledge within this system leaves then there are glitches. This is a good book on the individual and organizational responsibilities when dealing with one of the most important organizational assets; knowledge.

  • Number 2: Lerend organiseren
Als meer van hetzelfde niet helpt, Wierdsma A., Swieringa J., 2002.
How can an organization continue developing? This book gives concrete concepts and examples of organizations that are learning to learn this. A very practical, readable and, in particular, workable book on the principles of the learning organization. For me a good guide to the knowledge management matters that I come across in my daily work.

  • Number 3: Leiders, narren en bedriegers
Essays over de psychologie van het leiderschap, Kets de Vries M., 2003.
A book on management structures that, instead of focusing on the rational approach to control, uses various anecdotes and examples to analyse the irrational and subconscious motivations. An often neglected aspect is presented in an easygoing manner. This book provides a counterbalance to all other books on this subject, it is easy to read and is a refreshing change to your usual bedtime reading.
